An entrepreneur approached us with a big idea and a rough vision of a product which would provide automated, simple, and streamlined access to data needed for market analysis, investment planning, and brand expansion in the retail world. This would be achieved by providing complex market and financial data via simple to digest visual compositions (graphs/charts/maps)
Together with our design partners, we helped the client shape their vision into a full end-to-end user experience.
On the technical side, the dev team worked on integrating the various raw financial/market data from a Microsoft dataverse into a structured and organized back-end database, setting us up for applying various algorithms necessary to present the data in a visual format, while retaining full flexibility of brand choice, metric filtering and timeframe selection for the end user.
The laid out plans were successfully realized into a fully working MVP.
On our journey, emerging questions were answered, necessary adjustments were made, and even the design palette was refreshed based on the client’s wishes. As new data comes in, it is regularly synced from the raw imports into the proper format, ready for visual presentation.
The website has a solid user experience, with several composition types to choose from, ranging from simple tables, to bar and graph charts, to a location and product image database, as well as a market coverage map with detailed location information, cleanly integrated with Google Maps.
All of this with flexible search and filtering for an easy way to find exactly what you need from an expansive dataset. The user has the ability to save their compositions, and upon their return any new relevant data that has been added will automatically populate into the saved composition.
A web dashboard built on ReactJS.
An API responsible for both data retrieval, as well as user authentication, built using Ruby on Rails.
A Node.js layer integrated with the Microsoft dataverse, retrieving all the necessary data, storing it in the correct aggregated format into a PostgreSQL database.
Our goal is to help you launch quickly with rock-solid code. Let’s meet and talk about your ideas.
