The client had a lot of ambitious ideas and a functionality wish-list, while at the same time, there was a need to release an MVP of the app sooner than later. Collaborating with both the client team and a design team, we put together a plan to get us to MVP release within the desired timeframe.

The New Normal development team did a thorough deep dive into the current workings of the client’s system built on an archaic architecture, and put together a plan of action for a clean integration using a modern technology stack, to have everything sync in a timely manner, while leaving room for flexibility and expansion.

The first version of the mobile app was efficiently built and marched its way onto the Apple and Google storefronts with flying colors. Along the way there were a lot of pivoting priorities and new discoveries which were dealt with professionally and effectively.

The release of the mobile app was just the beginning though. We immediately dove into developing new features, expanding existing functionality, and planning for the future.

Alongside the mobile app, development began on a web-based content scheduling system to be tightly coupled with mobile. Additionally, we integrated the mobile app with a 3rd party educational course management system, while also building app analytics functionality, both in-app and on the web.

Whenever the need arose, the dev team size and composition were scaled accordingly, to make sure timelines were met and all tech stack needs were covered. All of the new functionality was successfully completed and released into the wild over the following months.

In the meantime, several organizations have started using the mobile app, providing valuable real-world-use feedback which the team has implemented along the way.
